The Namib Naukluft National Park

The Namib Naukluft Park is the largest game park in Africa and the fourth largest in the world with an overall area of 49,768 sq km (19,216sq mi). The Sesrienm Canyon is a great place to get that shot of zebra of springbuk running in the golden sandscape. Of course the ancient Welwitschia is just marvellous in its own with the fact that a single plant can be up to 1500years old. The Quest of small and large desert dwellers for survival in this harsh environment is a reality every day. Geologically the Namib area displays a wide range of rock types, ranging from the Namaqua Complex Houmoed granite dated at more than 1265 million years old, to the present day forming Namib Sand Sea.
